BUS2303-19.01.02-5B24-S3

Part I: Take a moment and introduce yourself to the class, sharing your status and what you hope to obtain from the course.

Part II: Describe your personality within a work environment, discussing how you deal with such things as teamwork, stress, and time management. Knowing that not all personalities are compatible, what do you do to work proactively with colleagues who have personalities or work habits that differ from your own?

This discussion board is an opportunity for self-reflection and to think critically about how personalities impact the workplace. There are no right and wrong answers. Let’s see how many ideas we can produce as a class.

If no initial posts exist to allow for a response to be made, you may submit an additional initial post addressing another aspect of the unit topic.

Discussion Topic

Please note that there are two posts needed to successfully complete the discussion board assignment. An initial post addressing the discussion board topic is due by end of day Saturday. A response post to at least one other student is due by end of day Tuesday.

For this discussion, you will have the opportunity to meet and greet your fellow classmates as well as complete a communication styles and personality type quiz and share your results.

COM 2301-21.02.01-5B24-S1, Professional Communication

This discussion board has two parts:

Part I: Introduce yourself to your classmates with your name, location, current employment, and future goals.

Part II: Many communication styles and personality type quizzes exist including Myers-Briggs, Merrill-Reid, and What Color Is Your Brain? Complete the free Big Five Personality Test.

Next, review your Personality Trait Scores for openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism (OCEAN), Your Traits in Depth, Your Personality Patterns, and Your Traits in Action. You do not have to “unlock my report.” This is a paid option.

Save your results by copying and pasting into a Word document (or print them).

Finally, summarize your results of the quiz, and discuss how you would work with someone who is the opposite communication or personality style. Provide a specific example to support your ideas.
